I am a scientist with many years of experience in business development on both sides of the academic-industry interface. I have lived and worked in the NW of England for the last 40 years, mainly in clinical nutrition and life sciences but also in developing corporate partnerships for UMIST in computation and construction science. At SHS in Liverpool, I was responsible for the registration of the first probiotic organism approved for food use in the UK, and for the development of my company’s intellectual property portfolio. I have held board positions with the Wirral Health Authority and at Blackburne House (women’s technology education centre in Liverpool) where I was deputy chair of the board, and for several years served as Honorary Secretary of my local sailing club on the Wirral.
As a sailor, gardener, and grandmother, I believe that it is extremely important to minimise damage to the environment for future generations.
Currently, I am the Science Engagement lead of Changing Streams and contribute to the work of the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust as an Associate Manager. I hold an Honorary Research Fellowship at the University of Liverpool. I enjoy putting my scientific and business expertise to use in support of the objectives of Changing Streams.
